Couple them with Product model and we are awash in highly overpaid know nothings, do nothings. The worst director I’ve ever worked for, wish we could send him back to Ford!

The Agile Playbook identifies many responsibilities for the Engineering Manager, the most important of which is to develop a high performing team. If your manager isn’t doing this then they are indeed not making a meaningful contribution.

Remove “Technology “ from your post. Middle management in general at WF is bloated and useless. Way too many who have been here 20+ years in the same role who are just waiting things out until retirement.
