The PRs are going horribly because they are telling the majority of people they are below target so money can be given to pay the executive and UAW huge salaries and bonuses. How they think messing over 80% of the US salary staff is going to motivate anyone to give anything more than minimal effort going forward is beyond me.
Because your boss hates doing PR’s and knows that you won’t be meeting target. Just be mentally ready for a “bad” PR on paper, but really just cost cutting and legal paperwork for upcoming layoffs.
You manager is probably delaying a week and hoping there are layoffs before he has to tell you the bad news.
