Trying to figure out why the people who get laid off are selected. My guess is pay>hub proximity>age>if you’re a white male.
Am I close? lol

I have my VSIPP papers in. I'm just waiting at this point.
The formula is S=Be(rt). Surplus if too many bathroom visits.
So if you are an oldie (29 years) but have a top performance and salary is higher due to continued high performance ratings; Does the high-performance out-weigh the salary and yrs of service?
Most of my collaboration is done in the bathrooms as that is the only time I see or run into anyone at my location, I also collaborate with my hole puncher, stapler and other inanimate objects but don't get a lot of feedback as not many folks at my location.
"Bathroom time counts. All work time is video recorded."
Maybe there are more white males at AT&T as they are a majority of US Population perhaps?
2022 Population by Race
White 251.6M
Black or African American 45.4M
American Indian and Alaska Native 4.38M
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islanders 20.95M
Two or more races 0.88M
If you are working at AT&T, you are pretty much a white male.
I have seen people get laid off just so the metrics avoid a lawsuit. Of course oldies get hit hard, there are so many of them. But salary is now the number one reason. High pay, bigger target.
It's Feb.... I can tell you who it aint

Management: Appraisal, Seniority.
Occupational: Seniority, Appraisal. Some contracts will allow "needs improvement" to supersede seniority.
The game they play is the business unit. Even with similarly titled people, some business units are targeted with more layoffs than others. To some extent, that is determined by the age distribution in each business unit.
The Union solves this with the concept of "pooled titles". No Union - you're on your own.
So you are confirming mostly white males have the highest paying positions! I knew it! Kind of obvious if you look around.
“ My guess is pay>hub proximity>age>if you’re a white male.”
Bingo! It’s middle aged White men with seniority that are most in the crosshairs. It’s a win/win for those Machiavellian swine…as they cut more costs & kowtow to DEI mandates.
the entire process is a joke! AT&T HR is useless and does not hold the company leaders to ethical behaviors but instead turn a blind eye - don't believe me? then just take a deeper look into BCS&S Leader as well as the Legg Organization. Very poor communication to the organizations, HR approved BS being discussed on calls that are half truths. oh sure let me train my future replacement...nope I will not and good luck when you let me go. If they just take a deeper dive into the backend terrible antics that are happening and especially the fake numbers of some groups in sales. Disgusting but I guess they follow their pajama king the Stink's leader attributes.

Based on what I've seen over the last few years, titles and salary also play a factor at who gets cut.
I personally believe salary is a substantially large factor in these decisions. If you're being overpaid and you're not exceeding in your role, chances are you'll be on the chopping block. What are we doing with your position? We've been eliminating senior level positions and delegating the same amount of work to junior developers. Of course, if you're just coming into the company, you would never know this. However, if you're moving around internally, these things become much more obvious when you're inquisitive.
I came across one position that folded two senior devs into a professional. The position was to maintain legacy Java code, which the previous devs maintained for nearly a decade.
I'd leave in a new york minute if T would just ask various business units, "who would like to leave?" I would take my entitled severance pay and never ever look back! I would divorce myself from this company every which way possible, period! T is just too afraid of the actual numbers of people that really want to exit from this disaster!
RTO metrics are a factor.
lol, they care about most of that…the hub proximity is to cover their a-s, they are trying to avoid paying multiple surplus packages and there are tons of employees who still get pensions and higher pay.
They claim to care about race as a way to appease the left but for us to are getting impacted let’s not get distracted by the fact that our former CEO put us in this position by making multiple bad acquisitions. Left, right, black white, who give a F! We are all getting sc--wed by a few people incompetence.
