Don’t count on US government enforcing its anti-discrimination laws. One example in 2020 US EEOC ruled that IBM had practiced age-discrimination, slapped them on the wrist and said don’t do it again. Three more years of age-discrimination have occurred. But of course IBM doesn’t discriminate wink-wink, all those corporate emails and presentations about making the dinobabies extinct were just bad jokes. Wink-wink

@2qkw You are too funny. Ford targets the best older workers for termination. I was one of those employees. I was 59 years old, an LL6, had a pension, and had a flawless record. I was a top achiever and high achiever my eighteen years employed at ford. I was a innovator that developed several productivity aids to reduce the amount of time and reduce errors in the daily tasks of my team. I was the only one on the team that had a skillset in several key areas, especially assembler coding on the mainframe. They eliminated every person that actually knew anything in the mainframe area. All that was left was a bunch of underachievers. In the end, I have a better job now, making more money, better healthcare, and less hassle, but I hope Ford gets what is coming to them.

It's called crony capitalism (aka friends and family) and it's called DEI.

Meritocracy, competency, and old white men have been marginalized as forms of violent extremism that must be stamped out.

Thanks co-mies, Barry, academics, and critical theorists!!

It is call CAPITALISM. Silicon Valley does all the time. Ford like GM or any of their suppliers is like GOT or Survivor. One needs to make alliances and be visible. Older folks with experience can protect themselves as long as stop complaining and be visible mentoring young cubs. Remember, like in GOT loyalties change all the time but one needs to be om top of the game being visible and rubbing elbows with managers or showing at the office when spvr's are there. Come on, those who make decisions will think twice in SIRP'ing "loyal" journeymen

I believe I was targeted for firing because of my age. If I get the chance to join a law suit against Ford for this, I will.

Wouldn't count on in it. The law also prohibits discrimination in any aspect of employment based on skin color and/or identity, but there are corporate-wide initiatives that circumvent those rules every day.
