Purple Park in Austin…Endless Spending!

Will Crown shutdown the money pit, it’s a place where Google’s failed employees work for Crown now and burn through money.
Another terrible network decision and zero accountability for their actions and spending. It’s network hangout that originally was kept secret from the tower folks.

@1vwbh+1qdgHPE8 Not true. You don’t need the cell site closer to the ground. The current 5G build has been largely c band which is high up in the air and the functionality and reliability has been just fine for both ATT and Verizon. Looking like you don’t know what you’re talking about.

As I read many of the comments here, it's clear the tower side doesn't understand what the fiber side does. The big 4 aren't building on towers much any more. Small cells and fiber is needed to meet the demand if not for these two the tower side will fall under. Everyone wants to be the fastest and to do that you need to be closer to the ground.

@hene+1qdgHPE8, who? Tilson girl? She never hurt anybody. She just took a job like the rest of us. She didn’t know how messed up it is here.

@hene+1qdgHPE8 There are many in our leadership structure that have horrible leadership skills and should be replaced.

@hail+1qdgHPE8 They just need to replace him like they did JB. He's probably po----g bricks right about now, waiting for the hammer to drop. I'm sure the lawsuit is causing HQ to look at his region with a microscope. His days are numbered.

They need to shut down everything under that VP. It's nothing but a pile of burning cash and buzzwords.

@3ccm+1qdgHPE8 That group of people is the laughing stock of the company. Humpty Dumpty took over from the previous leader thinking he could just continue to have the same success the previous leadership structure had but the proof is in the pudding.

How and who we promote has been a big problem over the last several years. Want proof? Ask Elliott how our fiber business is performing and they’ll give you the proof.

2xan+1qdgHPE8 So true! Someone thought promoting an engineer to District Director was a good idea. Anyone that has worked with engineers knows everything works on paper. It's up to the folks with hands on experience to make it work.

@2evo+1qdgHPE8, you are correct! Not to mention all kinds of airplane tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, meals and drinks for distant meetings every week, month and year instead of using 21st century teleconference meetings. We are a telecommunication company, right?

You are also so right with wasted equipment. Someone gets a so-called bright idea, tons of expensive test and field equipment is purchased, and then never used. I’ve seen it happen, not to mention the money spent for training on said unused equipment.

If Elliott ever did a deep-dive into Crown’s books and purchases over the years, they would have a heart attack.

No wonder Crown is not as profitable as it could/should be. Waste, waste and waste galore. 😢

The entire business is wasting money. D&D has servers, routers, laptops, etc that are just sitting in boxes.

Security has software, tools, even outside services not being utilized.

BS has tools not getting used.

Internal Audit is paying retainers to companies that haven't been used in years.

Fiber has equipment all over the country collecting dust. All brand new, too.

Look at all the buildings still sitting near empty.

The whole org needs to look at their waste. It's ridiculous with how much is wasted.

@1qwf+1qdgHPE8 That makes sense. I can’t believe so the cost for these enterprise jobs for like pennies on mrr. I feel like they never turn down a job.

I’d bet on Purple Park being removed, the fiber enterprise business coming to and end, leadership changes coming throughout the company and an overhaul on how our bonus are are determined.

Sell fiber, keep small cell, bring back tower services but develop and run the program with the help of people who know construction, not accountants and real estate attorneys.

Fiber is in trouble because Crown leadership let go all the astronauts and brought in the Google failures to fly a rocket ship. Crown brought fiber companies in Florida, Maryland, Boston, Chicago, California and a few others. Fiber was very profitable, that is why crown brought more than a few companies. They should have let the people who made them profitable continue to run them. Like Elliot stated, they let go all the leadership of those fiber companies and did not know how the reproduce their results. Fiber is a very different business from Tower. Both could have been profitable. Together ran properly, they could have dominated. CL and the Google crew needs to go because they do not know how to run either one!

It's not about the fiber its about the services/contracts you put on that fiber. Crown has yet to figure that out. They have been to busy worrying about building/contructing the fiber plant

Elliott and new board, please sell off fiber and small cells! Fiber is a financial anchor around the neck of Crown and the small cell team is not meeting forecasted numbers. Crown needs to return to its core tower business. Then, do a top down manager review of ALL managers, one by one, reducing managers at all levels. Then look at positions/people that are idle and not producing thereby causing too much wasted money with excess personnel. There is a lot of work ahead on many levels to make Crown profitable again.

Zero financial accountability in Network, their lack of leadership and understanding of the fiber business has cost 1000s of jobs and destroyed a once highly profitable company.

It’s very sad Crown has come to be a very unstable company with no direction or leadership…just a big company floating in the ocean with no rudder and sharks circling around!

They don’t do anything there that your average crew couldn’t rig up in a garage yet we had to listen to the marvy work going on from a clueless leadership. Yet again the disconnect from reality and knowledge is embarrassing.

We can only hope, the blatant lies about cost savings from there are reason enough. Hopefully the investigators have enough knowledge to get to the truth there.
