Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, eh?

Labor market predictions for 2024 vary. Here is the hopeful one:

According to the Robert Half study, only 1% of employers intend to eliminate positions in the first half of 2023, while another 2% will leave their headcount as-is. Another 39%, however, plan to fill vacant positions and 57% plan to add new positions in the first half of the year.

Job dependent companies that harvest resumes have rosy, unrealistic forecasts? National group of real estate agents says no better time to buy a house!

I am leaving after bonus, as I have accepted a job with local government. Pay cut but 100 percent job security. As the job is in IT, I can work from home. Can’t wait to give notice, counting down the days.

@kuq+1qhGEaPn You do understand that people losing jobs and not being able to pay mortgages will crash the economy at large and affect more than just them, right? Or were you still in grade school when the housing bubble popped?

@1oqh+1qhGEaPn...Other companies matter because if you get laid off from Wells Fargo you would need another job. So, knowing that other companies are laying off as well let's you know that getting a new job may take longer than you might expect.

Articles about most employers don't matter. CS is the head of Wells Fargo, and he has personally said there will continue to be mass layoffs. He's said it directly, and he's made it official with the statement that they will have an extra $1 billion of layoff related expenses in 2024. Other companies are irrelevant if you work for WF, because WF is still in the midst of doing mass layoffs.

LOL. It’s a typo, should have read 2024, but the rest of the numbers stated seem to right. It’s from the Robert Half's State of U.S. Hiring Survey for 2024.
