@jjz+1qhclDSp Under the old pension system you could retire once you had 30 years in. If you started work at 20, you could retire at 50. The old Ford pension system would pay you a supplemental until the age of 62. It’s a sweet deal. At a high level the supplemental is what the worker’s Social Security benefit would be on the earliest date he could take Social security (62).
However, if you do not make it to the 30 year mark and are under 55 you get no supplemental. Many people with 28/29 years in under 55 were targeted in 2019 layoffs. Some were months from their 30 year service mark.
The regular pension that you have accrued is still there but inaccessible until retirement age.

Does anyone here know how this lawsuit from '21 finally ended?
Where else can this end in Ford?
Bring down Ford and make sure every Ford family member is penniless and childless, so they will not keep corrupting the world.
That said, I don't know if you want to build your anti-age discrimination case from some group called "world socialists" ... they'll help you win your retirement check back, then take 90% of it to give to the "less fortunate"...
I know the one guy who is quoted in here. This is not the whole picture. This guy nailed the company on 8 relocations and got caught making stuff up on his resume. What did Ford do … sent him to Sacramento and then a few years later gave him an LL6 … so typical Ford.
This part makes no sense, and needs more explanation from the reporter:
One parts distribution manager told the Free Press, “I would have retired at age 50, which is next year, making $60,000 a year in pension. Now I have to wait until age 62 to get $10,500 in pension a year.”
I have to imagine they're glossing over crucial details here.
Captain Obvious nods approvingly.
