Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Toni Sergi Billing Team being offshored to India Accenture

Not sure why they lasted so long on an island out there. Q1 is the timeline.

This isn’t true. This is an incredibly tiny billing group under corp strategy and they aren’t going anywhere.

Don’t worry offshoring is so yesterday. With all the illegals flooding Texas Stink will soon get all work done for next to nothing. Look out VZ and T Mo.

Shouldn’t India give aid to the US tax payers rather than US giving our hard earned money to India while outsourcing jobs to them?

Just double checked my contract. It still has the job off guarantee. Guessing you don't have that type of protection?

Very sad since for years we've over billed and purposely made it difficult to dispute company errors to the point customers just give up. I've listened to prior outsourced call centers read the statements off cards for example "is there anything else I can help you with? " clearly not understanding or addressing the billing errors repeated over and over. We Purposely steal and have a long overdue class action lawsuit coming. Anger will grow even more when to speak to an employee in the United States option will be impossible.

If you are able to WFH, your position can be outsourced/offshored.

There is no such thing as “job security” anymore!

Good luck with that!

Are they capable of performing said function?

Positions done in a WFH setting are prime candidates for offshoring.

Payment processing and billing same thing yet we pay so much for internal
So called automation teams
To serve as middlemen to tell
Accenture what to program.
Reorganizations needed because roosters guarding the hen house pretending their teams of high paid mangers are needed.
I’m not a big offshore advocate but when we’re paying for it anyway and execs don’t see the high internal cost (L2 & L3 salaries) then why don’t they just declare it offshore to save company money — it’s offshore now with an expensive management overlay of so

At least they will not need to worry about CP 2024 training.

H$ll, why don’t all US companies offshore everything since it’s cheaper. How about the US lead and not fall into the globalization trap of few elite, then there is everyone else. We are the world’s largest economy and the reserve currency of the world but if we continue to be copy everyone else, the US will end up like everyone else.

Everyone wants to sell their products in the US but if the middle class jobs go then the country will ultimately fail, because the market won’t be there.

Billing is an administrative process. Why was this not offshored earlier?
