Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Did you receive a request from Workday to update your talent profile? Read this before you do.

One of the reasons AT&T chose Workday was for their ability to leverage AI in decision making. One of those decisions is about your future with AT&T. Using information you and your supervisor provide to build your employee profile, the system will score you as a candidate for surplus in 2024.

Only put what the company already knows.

I make it sound like I walk on water. Plus I add in that I’m a disabled non binary trans le----n.

That right there is the trifecta. Absolutely indispensable.
You left out your race, you could have hit a home run. Try better next time Sir and or Mam.

I keep hearing about it and I too got the email the other day. There was one call my team had prior to the Holidays where it was discussed. I was out, so I legit don’t know anything about it.

Assuming my Boss will reach out when I “really” need to do this? Dunno.

Interesting how AI is being used more in this area.

I retired 3 years ago and last month I was contacted about opportunities in broadband project management, etc. I had deactivated my LinkedIn account prior to retirement, however, recruiters are still mining info from it. This particular recruiter used AI to find my account and then build a new profile. She sent the AI generated profile to me and then asked if I was interested.

After 43 years at T, I’m not interested in returning to work, however, if you build a compelling profile in LinkedIn, there’s a good chance a recruiter using AI may find you.

Yes, I don't believe this applies to bargained for employees since their layoffs are by seniority and not favoritism, nepotism or cronyism!

I only see non-represented posted in there, so it’s a waste for me. It also looks like a cheap knock off of LinkedIn, similar to what T-Space was.

I saw "update your talent profile" and soiled my pants. I don't have much talent. Pretty much a goner.

AT&T has always nagged you to update your talent profile throughout the various iterations of career platforms, with the prior one being Career Intelligence.

Yeah, they can use AI to make bad decisions, but it's not limited to Workday.

Also, if the AI is properly tuned and unbiased, it would most certainly select executives to be first on the chopping block, given their expense to (lack of) talent ratio.

All the people with talent will leave or be made to leave, folks around me are updating resumes. AI will help with that. Let AI complete the work without oversight. Just like taking your hands off the wheel and letting AI drive you all the way home without intervention.

Wonder if C suite also has to update skills in Workday. Hope if AI analyzes results they will be first to be laid off.

You will hate workday with a passion whenever you start applying for new jobs elsewhere outside of the company. Worst interface ever. It’s definitely seems to be used by all the companies so they can say there are no good candidates for the position and therefore outsource the job.
