I assure you with the Infor and Workday rollout, as buggy as they are, there will be a massive reduction in HR once those bugs are worked out. We have been slapped in the face with Infor issues.
Each and everyday we have to find a work around, and we document that. That is communicated up the chain of command.
Soon Infor will work correctly, as will Workforce.
HR will soon be a BOT.... Sorry, this is AT&T.

I started as a com tech back in 1971, Newark NJ. Stayed craft for 7 years then got promoted. It was a pay cut since the loss of OT. But after several years and getting A ratings, got raises and bonus. Got promoted several times, made District then FMP'd but got another position as a 2nd level on the Tech side. Got promoted to SG7 and stayed there until I retired. Tech side had no one to manage just do your job. My take is if you want to stay a tech good for you, if you want management, that's good. It's all what the individual wants in life. It takes both kinds of workers to get the job done. I had tons of craft friends that I drank and hung out with after I got promoted..friends are friends..getting promoted should not break that friendship..

@1vdl Your paperwork was just annotated with the 'bye bye' stamp.

We here in the craft department are highly educated at Dartmouth, Kings College and Sandhurst. The incompetent manager class never fail to amuse me at their inevitable firing from AT&T. Cheers

You did some Googling there didn't you to find those College names.
If you were so cleaver and educated, you would not be on this forum worrying about your job, your mortgage or the horror of having to RTO.

"You will not need worry about that, you won't be employed by AT&T much longer."

Odd, I spent most of the day processing Bargained 'bye bye' notification paperwork. I have a job as long as there is one Bargained worker left. Or as they say 'ladies first'

Looking good for the Union retires, right, 401K ,Pension.
That is unless you processing the "bye bye" notifications for Prem Techs. Doesn't look that good there.

I love how Craft act so high and mighty, they cost the most even though they do the least.

Really? I have the upmost respect respect for those in Craft that have elected to take a "management, non bargained job". (10% raise, maybe a bonus, on call 24/7 if you are someone that actually supports the network).
I questioned their sanity, but I still respect their decision.
20 years ago, management was something that a Craft Employee after years of experience would like to aspire to. A chance to set down their working tools and help the next generation of technicians with their knowledge.

Now, AT&T can not recruit a single Craft technician with many years of experience to take on the role of manager. AT&T tried to recruit Craft to fill the roles when they were about to sc--w over Managers with the loss of Healthcare coverage after 12-31-2002. They had ZERO takers.

Now AT&T gets to hire discount, cheap clowns, just like you.

Now as to your statement "I love how Craft act so high and mighty, they cost the most even though they do the least."

You will not need worry about that, you won't be employed by AT&T much longer.

The union is a skeleton of what it once was.
Good luck.

Craft won’t be replaced but headcount will be reduced one way or another. Used to be with voluntary offers. Now I’m not sure.

HR will be replaced by Workforce and Infor. Neither of these system work, but that doesn't matter. This AT&T.
I want to see the craft jobs replaced by ANYTHING AT&T can build.
