Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Merit and Bonus Cuts again …

As a company we continue to say “record breaking profits and performance” and yet again duRing YE convo it’s “we will see minimal raises and cuts to bonuses” … this is like year 4 that we are hearing this. With this trend there will be no bonus or annual raise in 2 years. I’m so frustrated by the same stupid comment every single year .. about time we say “well since you took 10%, you get 10% less from me this year” … add that up over 4 years I am giving a solid 60% effort in 2024

I worked there for four years and every year it was the same s-b story, “we’re poor, we only made x billion dollars this year, while my work load doubled and tripled. I recently left to take a nice pay raise with double digit bonuses and full time work from home. If you stay year over year and just complain, nothing will change. You too can leave and find better.

Sometimes I tell people that I am a bank robber. I get money from a bank and do little to nothing.

@4yeb+1qtSmVqy See this is the kind of language that doesn't help "... DEI becomes a buzz word in right wing propaganda ... " This has helped nothing. I indicates you have intended to put your head in the sand instead of discussing it.

@4rkl+1qtSmVqy " there should be equitable opportunities for posting to jobs. " No. There should be equal opportunity to jobs. Personally, I don't care about demographics some are getting hung up. Best qualified, more opportunity.

You guys are arguing for equal outcome; I want equal opportunity. If you want to address problems we do have, start with the school systems that are totally abandoned people and created this underclass. There are tons of issues that do have to be addressed. Forcing equal outcomes doesn't fix it.

You are free to choose the surgeon who got to school based on demographics; I want the one who went on merit. Two different things.

We shouldn't have to spell out to you that there should be equitable opportunities for posting to jobs.
How you perform in the position is a direct impact to pay
Pay for Performance
The issue here is what the bank considers pay & Performance
I know of so many leaders who just put their buddy's or family into roles and unfortunately it's necessary
Why don't you just say you would rather an unqualified white man be promoted over someone from a protected class? We all know what you mean

I have paid attention to this board for a few years and have never seen DEI mentioned on here and all of sudden DEI becomes a buzz word in right wing propaganda and all of sudden here we are. I don't know why try and sow division amongst us employees when we are all facing the same the same challenges of this corporation undervaluing their employees.

It's always has to be some that other groups fault, right? Give me a break.

@4bch+1qtSmVqy That’s a child’s response and a typical response from someone who refuses to discuss the issue. Believe this is great policy? Fine. No one can change minds that are married to it. But wait and see. Smaller and smaller bonuses, slight RSU increases and everyone making the same. No incentives. It won’t work.

Sorry, @3wsw+1qtSmVqy but no. DEI is horrible and will hurt a lot of people. The E is for Equity which means equal outcomes. To ensure equal outcomes means meritocracy is dead. And Brain ki-led it when he came in. It was a pillar of the company and was scrubbed from flagscape. That tells you why a number of people haven't gotten and will not get raises. It's a joke that no matter how hard you work, you won't get a raise and now the bonuses are smaller. The bank made 10's of billions and Brian is not letting people earn more when they deserve it.

I don't really have a problem with Brian making money. I do have a problem when he pulls in $30 million and has the audacity to sc--w over people who work hard. I would agree their is an elitist, exploitative problem in this country. Brian is a poster child for it. And he's a media darling in part due to his commitment to this insanity.

@3zki+1qtSmVqy

Your statement is categorically false
DEI wouldn't be necessary if a certain group of people would promote & provide increases fairly instead of using favoritism/nepptism etc.
The real issue is that the same group of people across the top are OVEREARNING year over year
If you hit above your goal every year, you could still be considered a meets/meets
The metrics they use to give raises is intentionally demeaning.
You can be above average every single month & still be considered a meets/meets
Your 1% that hit exceed/exceed are a combination of organic top producers OR family members, cheaters and favorites who have been given an opportunity to succeed
DEI IS NOT A BAD WORD

If you are one of the DEI backers, then be happy cause that's exactly what this is. For those not good at reading tea leaves, their basic premise is that everyone is the same. If everyone is the same, they pay them all the same. Bonuses will continue to evaporate and you may see minor RSU increases. That's because RSU are generally the same for everyone within a certain role. Bonuses were not. So you cannot have that. At some point, everyone at your level will get the same pay and RSUs, no bonuses. No room for more experienced people, harder working people or people who are a little better. That's equity. Don't believe me, wait it out and watch it happen.

Once upon a time, the bank promoted "Inclusive Meritocracy". That was wiped from Flagscape once Brian took over. That's because he and the geniuses who voted for him believe everyone is the same. One person can just do someone else's job. There is no more working to try an get ahead. Don't bother putting in any extra effort because you'll end up no better off. You'll just be stressed more. Do what you have to and move on. Only Brian and his sycophants will get regular raises and lots of stock.

Brain is a knob gobbler. That’s the problem. You’re all a bunch of cogs that don’t matter. Nothing is merit based. They’re trying to ki-l bonuses and give everyone a small amount of RSU. Thanks Brian.

"It’s quite sad that the bank makes record profits yet can’t afford to pay its people. "

"Its people" are the shareholders. They get paid.

I worked for BofA for 5 years. I got so tired of the same thing and much more. They brag about 7 billion quarterly net profit while they made it sound like they do not have a budget for pay increases.

I ended up leaving a couple of years ago and doubled my comp.

I left and now make 50% more than I did at the Bank and now work mostly remote. Do the bare minimum while looking for other roles, leave and don't look back.

That blockhead mfing CEO BM and his cronies are reaping all the benefits. They are making millions and giving us pennies. This blockhead has the nerve to hold townhalls and talk about this shlithole bank. I am tired of seeing this blockhead on CNBC saying it all good here at the Shlithole bank of america.

Get out ASAP! I left and never been happier. The bank is a shithole and cancer for your career. Work a few years get experience and LEAVE. I wish I did earlier and not wasted my time and thought I would get promoted with a better salary. Got promoted with no salary at times at most I got 10%. GARBAGE bank and company.

I have been telling you mofos that this company doesn't give a shlit about you. All of that bullshlit they post on flagshlit everyday just wants you to believe they care about your azz. All you can do now is just look for another job and half azz your job here until you find another one.

After 20 years at BOA I can say I am glad I am closer to the end than the beginning. I would tell kids coming out college there is no long term future in banking. Unless you want Sales or investments.
