My Manager is a millenial and I help and coach her daily. Very nice lady, very green. She will eventually be a good Manager if folks give her the time.

The problem with millennial managers is that they don't know how to communicate with their direct reports! They don't know how to support their needs when called upon so they basically just ignore them whenever a direct report calls or emails them, not all mind you, but this has been mine and many of my coworkers experience.

The objective view on this is that Millennials are next line as the core of our workforce is anticipating retirement. The question is, have we developed the talent and experience in the millennials in order to create sustainable growth that will allow our business to grow and continue to be "AT&T" for the next century or will we become Blackrock in the near future?

I think age has little to do with the effectiveness of a manager. The willingness of the individual to listen to input from others and to make decisions based on that input does. But most importantly, a real leader takes responsibility for their actions. Too many yes men (and women) are the problem with this company and world, if we are being honest.

Millennials are saying that they will be handed the torch to lead and turn around this sinking ship that the Boomers and GenX created. Boomers and GenX in craft and middle management will be retiring/forced retired soon and they know they'll be steering the ship and more than capable and ready to do so.

The reason millennial’s make less is because they ask for a raise wearing a David Bowie man dress. Maybe a clean haircut and a business suit might help.

I do leadership training for different business units, the millennial managers are brighter, have better EQ, care more for their employees and are more willing to create positive change than their predecessors. GenZ I can't speak for...

Even the Millennials don’t have a cure for the cancer that has metastasized throughout AT&T. Too late kids.

You might be afraid Millennial Supervisors. Allow this question. What has the seasoned (senior) leadership done with AT&T in the last 10 years?
I'll hang up now and wait for your response on the air....

Im old and think RTO is insane. You don't have to be young to know working from home increases happiness, productivity and a good standing with your family. When I use to WFH I was at my desk 12 hours a day and also checking emails on the weekend. Now that I have a lengthily commute the laptops stays in the car till the next morning. Don't even get me started on burning all those fossil fuels to go to a pointless office.

Considering some millennials are hitting 40 now (yep, that’s correct), doesn’t that make them not so young anymore?

These old azz mangers are the ones making all the ridiculous RTO policies.
Their logic: come into to work to jump on conference calls!

I hate to admit it - but these younger leaders get it!
