Returning to Ford after Layoff

Is it possible to return to Ford after being laid off and signing CTP? It mentions that laid off people are ineligible for re-hire (contract and direct) (non-contingent). Has anyone ever returned or knows if it’s even possible?

Yes it is, had a teammate that got laid off. he got a new position at Ford about 6 months later in a different department.

It’s very easy to go back if you are in the friends and family club. If you are not forget about it. I left a year ago and know several of the connected to the friends and family club that were brought back. some of them should’ve been fired long time ago, but in stead they got back in because who they know. But if you’re not in the club they don’t want you. And they wonder why the quality is so atrocious at that place.

@vxk+1qvEMdmF I'd bet the clause is in due to lawyers, and possibly related to avoiding lawsuits. Like if the company terminates an employee, including the pension, and later on hires the same employee as agency for the same job, is an easy winnable lawsuit for any lawyer.

It is not very difficult to get back as agency after being laid off as Ford employees. I have seen tons of that. As long as your hiring manager agree. There is no issue. Coming back as Ford employee is also possible, you will need high level managers to help though.

Maybe that's not the question. Maybe the question is: Why? Is Ford really you're only viable option? On another note they probably make exceptions. This clause had always puzzled me. Maybe it made sense to some employment lawyer on staff, but makes absolutely no business sense at all.
