Mass layoffs are bad strategy

Short and colorful analyses, but it actually gets it. Cutting jobs in massive numbers may more often than not be a bad strategy.

Verizon Wireless has too many employees who do nothing but track other people who do nothing. Old school sales organization converting consumer to business and calling it a sale. This company... Has many layers and needs to downsize to match what is really needed to run this place.

Indian execs get huge kickbacks from the government of India and Indian contracting companies (ie infy, HCL) for every job they take away from a US employee and give to an Indian. Look at the numbers. What percentage of IT execs are Indian? What percentage of RIFs were American? What percentage of “new hires” were Indian? What percentage of promotions were Indian?

WFH is making the layofffs easier. They can cut the highly paid employees and replace them with anyone else. We all need to RTO. Why would Verizon pay NY rate for someone to answer phones when they can look elsewhere now and get a cheaper person.
