I said it’s simply not true and I 100% stand behind it. Reading that “Ford has hotel seating” as a way to refute my point…..that actually helps my point. My new company has that and that’s why I know I’m 100% right. But keep living in your Mickey Mouse world….

RTO is key to employee collaboration.

Collaboration leads to a company's improved successful operation.

Many studies by experts have proved this. Tesla follows this rationale and they are successful. It's not hard to understand why Ford must go this route to stay competitive.

How many people were in those buildings. Because we have 8k less employees than we did two years ago.

'This is simply not true'

This is 100% true. Building 2 is a wasteland, regent court was sold and they are readying the bulldozers for fmcc.

That's not to say they can't or won't lease other properties until the mothership/campus and the money pit / trane station are done. But right now, they don't.

I am prepared to move on when I've had enough. If you aren't happy, you should be as well. That said, RTO is being mandated because companies along with local, state, and federal governments don't like remote work because they're losing revenues. Think of everything that working in an office drives from an economy perspective and you'll quickly understand why you're being forced back into the office.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about, so try clicking your heels together 3 times while chanting "RTO is coming, RTO is coming, RTO is coming".

"Ford doesn't have the office space to support everyone returning 5 days."

This is simply not true. Oft repeated too.

Ford has squeezed hotel desking and walk up work spaces throughout their buildings. Plus they've dropped thousands of heads through layoffs, retirements, and attrition.

It is wishful thinking to think they don't have the space. And wishful thinking to think that they won't RTO full-time even if they didn't.

RTO 5 days a week in an uncleaned anonymous different desk everyday where i cannot leave anything overnight at?

Yeah right.

Ford land and Ford management have lost their marbles.

Not OP, but look up GM's thread on Reddit and you'll see they had the same issue (lack of space) and still mandated RTO. Easy way to change work requirements and get clearance to fire people without severance.

Then, what happens to the folks who joined remotely in the first place?

At the rate people are Retiring/Leaving there will soon be plenty of room....It seems people are done with the culture and dealing with the stupidity.

Ford will fix the office space issue by putting salaried onto a shift schedule. Go to two shifts and office capacity is doubled, three shots and its tripled.

So is Tuesday.

Even if the Earth vanished, Tuesday wouldn’t go away.

So, WHEN is 5-day RTO coming?

I can guess that there is tremendous pressure from the banking and investment class for the big crony-capitalists to set an example and make commercial real estate (CRE) great again. I’m seen business news articles moaning about the surplus of empty CRE.
