Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Use the cloud they say, but don't use it so much! WTF

WTF is up with leadership all this cloud BS by signing all these cloud vendor agreements, and then scolding us when we use it because the meter is running and we need to keep a lid on costs.. WTF, you're AT&T use you're fckn leverage and stop signing all these du----s agreements where your cost is a constraint for everyday business needs, If MSFT wants our business they need to cut us sweet deals, where did our leadership learn to negotiate.

Plus any half-brained CTO SHOULD know the cloud was NEVER ABOUT savings, and the trend towards on-prem repatriation is already in full swing... T is always behind the curve..

The people who signed the contracts got their yearly bonus and left, probably to go right into the company they just paid billions. Now you have to spend 3 hours in order to save 50 cents a month!

What we buy for cloud service is a complete joke. Its so dang slow. I bet I spend two hours day staring at hour glasses waiting for it to actually work. Its crazy.

We can't afford the on premise either, we have to pay DXC too much for the systems that we already own.

The incompetence knows no limits.

The cloud is a good idea for companies that need a national or global and footprint but Stent big enough to have one. Maybe Legg's plan was to shrink the company down to meet that profile.

Remember when ATT had its own cloud and leadership thought it was cheaper to use 3rd party vendors?
