I also took 10 lines from AT&T to T-Mobile once I heard I was being laid off.

T-Mo su-ks. Go with a Verizon MVNO for the best coverage.

I use t-mobile and am an active employee. The plan the serves me best is less than the employee discount rate as I don't need all the bells and whistles. And I especially don't want to get stuck paying the full rate if I'm laid off because they'll throw that contract at you and remove the employee discount.

Yup. I retired 2 years ago and switched last year to T-MOB for the same reason. The only retiree discount worth having now is the Fiber 5000 internet for $10/month.

You are still tracking the AT&T layoff board after 20 years being off payroll? This is sad.

I called to get my 3rd level LL concession & was told that it would cost me $25 w taxes.
I now have TMUS 5G home internet for $30 mo and use OOMA for my LL replacement for $5 mo. TMUS gives a special mobil cell discount to telco competitor retirees for $10 mo.
Dropped DTV $125 svc for Sling & pay $40 mo.

I took the cash balance & re-invest my $1.65M payout & really don't care what happens to T anymore. Suggest everyone look at competition & save money for as good as or better offerings. I did.

Thanks for continuing to pay the higher rates, to support the company that is paying your pension. If you won't pay the higher rate, you're keeping the rest of us from getting the same deal you did. Don't expect sympathy from us when the pension is surplused

No “new retiree” employee discounts

TMO has picked up a lot of T former employee services, especially because T employee discount no longer applies!
