Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

From a former employee with love!

For those SEs or SAs who will be affected by the upcoming LRs, remember that there's always hope for a brighter future.

I, too, faced a difficult period when I was personally affected by layoffs, which can often feel impersonal, though in my case, it was quite the opposite. Without divulging specifics to protect the privacy of others and myself, I encountered a challenging situation where favoritism overrode merit in the decision-making process. Despite the setback, I channeled my energy into pursuing new opportunities.
*
Leveraging my expertise and professional certifications, including two CCIEs, I was able to secure a position with a competing firm. This move not only marked a fresh start but also allowed me to thrive, successfully competing and WINNING (feels good) against my former employer in the marketplace.

“I am a CCIE, but I work for the competition” gives you more credit and power. Use it along with every skill set to forge a new path forward….and get even!

We work for no one but ourselves with expertise and experiences we developed and worked hard. I bring my professional skills to the table, along with industry certifications I earned including CCIE. These skills and experiences are very transferable from one employer to another. Have confidence and you will be fine. It’s your gain and company loss if they choose to trim.

Great news. CCIE is knowledge based, not a vendor specific.

I also went through very similar experiences, can't be happier
