in 2020 at Oracle, they called it Oracle Lights out and let go most of the support personnel across the US, keeping only some east coast and west coast, they let go close to 10k. Office spaces were shut down, etc. Everything else was outsourced to Romania. Now Cisco has to drop 12k on Valentine's day... a bloody Valentine. I wonder if they are following Oracle's pattern. They tried real hard to keep it out of the press too. Good Luck. Saw this on an earlier thread...
Approximately 5,160 employees are impacted.
1-1s and team meeting invites are being sent out... Your managers have a 02/16 deadline to hand in talent assessments and/or PIP discussions. If impacted, starting 02/12 your work will be monitored (legally) until you're released. Severance package is not bad. Good luck in your next endeavor.
Several team members got a 1:1 for Thursday. No explanation, and unusual timing, so it's possible some invites are already going out.
