Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Who is safe?

Do we know if any group/area can be considered safe?

I'm safe, but I banked and invested furiously during my entire career so when Cisco laid me off I was able to retire early. If you can live like a monk it can be a viable survival strategy. Like Cisco itself, it's not a viable strategy for everyone.

CX will not be cut. We will be growing after this. If your LR-ed, search for CX roles.

How about DataCenters, Buildings, and Labs? Besides the ongoing joke RTP closing, I am hearing rumors more sites are downsizing and closing down?

Like everything, I would say the closest to the business or to revenue the better and safer!

If you working on a division that is not growing, or that is not selling well, the writing has been on the wall folks

Safety is not how large corporations work… no one is safe. They like to agitate the pot to drive employees productivity.

Technical support team (TAC) should be safe.

Besides the ELT and their cronies, the useless SE Management and VP in the UK org - their politicised toxic mafia is so well set up that nothing can get through those layers of insulation.
