That thing about the people with accomodations, if true, might be the biggest douchebag move in the history of the company. I mean what in the actual F? This is like the colleges that made 100% online students get vaccinated or they'd be kicked out of school. It's clown world nonsense in its purest form.

F the locations. The entire point of the information age and networks is that we don't have to all be piled into one building. Our would-be overlords are fully aware of this, of course. Their only purpose with this cr-p is to be complete A holes to the employees and crank the suffering up to 11. F them. Give me severance or give me death.

Ok - question - so if I qualified for severance per the benefits book requirements when an office location is changed - would I also receive the 60 day non working notice as well?

Our division originally stated that employees could not commute to a core location rather than relocating. They have since backed off of that position. They are now saying you can but it is not recommended and the company will not cover commuting expenses.

Another position they are taking is that employees in non-core locations with a medical accommodation to work remotely will have to relocate to a core location even though they will not be working in an office in the new location.

if the new location is more than 20 miles from the old location and more than 40 mi from home you can request severance. read the benefits book

40 miles. And if you're 41 miles away from office in core location (for example) and want to commute to that office instead of relocating (if permitted) or being displaced, you can't.

That tells you everything you need to know about this BS strategy. Purely for attrition, nothing else.

(A colleague said he would drive to core location office 46 miles away -- 2 hr. commute each way -- and was told he could not. I used to commute longer than that to WF office in the city a decade ago and WF had no problem w/that then.)

So if they close my current office and assign me to one which is over a 40 mile drive from my house - I can refuse and take the severance instead?

40 miles, which for some can amount to several hours.
