Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

I’ve reached quitting point

With all the silent layoffs/attrition tactics deployed, I am done. Work conditions became unbearable. At the end of the day, I have to let them win, because my health and my future are much more important to me than this job, or god forbid, this company. Staying here and battling this amount of stress (intentionally induced) is pointless.

This company is so scatterbrained and one of the most poorly organized corporations I've been with. Just all over the place with their policies and everyone gives you a different answer. Plus the tech is garbage. No, I dont want to have to learn/use a workaround for your workaround because it broke as well lol.

I’m not sure which Fidelity you work for but the Fidelity I work for, if you work your a-s off you don’t get a raise so yeah it’s real. If you’re working hard and you’re getting rewarded, then good for you pal because the rest of us aren’t. Count yourself lucky and keep your criticism to yourself punk.

There is no master plan to drive attrition up, but here's a news flash for most of you - you are at the bottom of the performance curve. The employees who are important and are doing well are getting rewarded, are not complaining here, and are not leaving. You will all be unhappy and su-k wherever you are working, so go su-k someplace else

I was supposed to get a promotion a bit ago. Was told that I got it and would be starting training in a few weeks then out of nowhere, the next week, the promotion was pulled and claimed to have been an accident lmao. Makes me think I'm on the layoff hit list... especially seeing I've only been there almost three years. I'm supposedly in the runnings again for promotion to the same department but not holding my breath. Just saving up those paychecks for my layoff emergency fund lol.

Everything was starting to get more and more obvious the last few months. Being cheapy on the raises (2%), making it harder to secure your metrics for bonuses, return to office, etc.

You can tell the workplace has changed from this thread. We used to just show up and do our jobs. Fidelity is a great place to work and once you leave you will realize what you had. I know this is unlikely but try to look inward for the problem and maybe you can grow.

lol at all the creepy talk. But it’s a good idea. The office su-ks but we get nothing done there anyway so I like this. As someone who was taken advantage of way too much and never compensated extra for it.

Do not leave. Quit quietly and take the check. I’m sure it’s not in your DNA to be creepy but they’re being creepy first so you be creepy back and just do as little as possible and get your paycheck. It’s actually kind of fun to see how little you can do. Try it. Leave them with a workforce of id--ts… play d-mb just like they do.

Early bird gets the worm, the business model is tapped out. They reorganized the top of the house to get after the really wealthy and to fend off robinhood. I often wonder if all the hiring is more than just an asset grab. Hiring advisors to drive flows and acquire the book and IT to roll over 401ks, they don’t care if they leave, they have what they want.
