Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

1:1's will be sent out tomorrow after numbers report and also first thing Thurs

as a former manager and LR victim I'm well aware of the process. Don't expect to be able to ask any questions, you can ask but you won't get any answers. Managers are told not to vary from the HR provided script in any way.
Good luck, hope the reported numbers associated with this LR are incorrect

Notifications are on Thursday, if your 1-1 is moved to Friday you are probably fine. But then who knows, maybe your manager is playing 4-D chess and sneaks in a Thursday morning catch-up Wednesday evening.

I had my 1:1 last week on Friday.. but still expecting one this week. Last lay off round last year my (different) manager set up a call with all his direct reports. He let everyone know 1:1 whether they're being let go or not

I am not working until this layoff is settled. Either I am in or I am out.

I think that we will have a company wide meeting that will outline the earning call and the layoff details.

You sounded genuinely a nice person.
Sheesh I never wanted to be anyone's manager in tech world. Is it fun to be a manager? Besides losing skills 😕

This is only true of certain geographies. The LRs are global. US, Canada, Latam have very weak labour laws, thus notification can be made on Thursday or Friday. The rest of the planet protects workers rights, as such notifications will only be given out after consultation period.
