Will AppD get deprecated tomorrow & in June (layoffs) to onboard Splunk’s 8k employees?

Probably some impact. The FSO solution is combining AppD, ThousandEyes, and Splunk - so there is likely to be redundancy.
Best wishes that this LR doesn't impact you.
Cisco acquired AppD what 5-6 years ago, and it’s STILL not fully integrated into the larger Cisco. Sales is separate, Product, etc. They aren’t using the same BIS systems, everything is manually merged together. Cisco barely understands how to run a software company. If the EU approves the Splunk deal, it will be YEARS before they are integrated in the same manner. Sure there will be quick product integrations so they can sell it as a part of FSO, but it’s not like Splunk can come in and replace AppD day 1. They are 2 different products. Cisco bought them because they have massive ARR that will pump up the books. The Splunk deal does not mean anything for AppD in the short term.
honestly, I don't even see a point for Cisco to continue using Appd now that they got Splunk. The best thing the Appd folks can hope for is that Splunk would eventually get merged into Appd BU. While a lot of positions will be eliminated due to redundancy, its better than the whole AppD BU getting shutdown.
