Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Billy and the Elites still don't get it!

"Ford CEO James Farley laid much of the blame for the losses on EV pricing - a known sticking point for consumers unwilling to pay thousands more for a vehicle while inflation is up and interest rates remain. high"

Why is society being pushed into this cr-p?

Tesla has used more tax incentives than anybody else. Heather biggest RINO I've ever seen. And their quality is trash. Enjoy your 50k to 100k car with squeaks and rattles.

Posted on another thread, pardon the repeat -

Ford should have invested 5-6B on Charging Infra and reduce that much from the 20-30B investment plan on EVs. Charging Infra is going to be a guaranteed source of income for years to come, regardless of which EV consumers select. Just look at Tesla and Elon laughing their a** off when all the OEMs are adopting Tesla's Charging standard (NACS) just because how much better experience it is to use a Tesla Charging station and Tesla in turn poised to make a few billion in steady revenue stream from Teslas and other OEM EVs starting later this year!

"Ford has turned into a luxury brand"

Exactly the opposite of Hank's philosophy was. Lincoln was and should be the luxury brand of this company. These people are clueless and Bill's legacy is going to be a derelict money pit of a train station and a bankrupt company.

What is beautiful about crony capitalism: if the consumer does not realize the value proposition, chances are the government will mandate it.

Or is that fascísm?

@ 2egv Ford is NOT a “luxury brand,” and never will be.
Wealthy people do not buy Lincolns, Ford employees do.
Ford makes middle class vehicles with outrageous prices.

All I want is an affordable and economical vehicle, is that too much to ask? Ford has turned into a luxury brand. That inexpensive EV to compete with Tesla and the Chinese cannot come soon enough.

The one naive point missed by @1ocn+1r4YW2M3 is that the Government is pulling the strings with regulations forcing society into golf carts and will have more control over the society mo--ns.

That’s what is beautiful about capitalism: if the consumer does not realize the value proposition, chances are they will not buy the product. Sure, you will always have fringe consumers who just buy stuff to be first. But it is the majority who ultimately determine if the product will succeed or fail. The majority does not see the value proposition with EVs. If gasoline was $10/gal, that perception may change, but that would imply the fossil fuel industry capitulating, which will never happen because people make too much money off of it. So now Ford is left with investments which are not adding to the bottoms line, but taking from it.

Are the zero tailpipe emissions still in place for 2030 or 2035 for states such as Caleefornia and NY, Oregon, etc? What now? Did they formally get an EPA waiver from the administration to harshly invoke ‘states rights’ on its victimized residents?

Norway and some other Europe countries went all EV mandate, how are their markets receiving the new EVs?

Interesting article, there’s kind of a paywall but you can click thru it.

Lousy excuse. Did they expect the govt subsidies for EVs to exist forever and even increase for their extremely mis-guided fantasy of fairy dust, unicorn flat__u__lence and leprechaun hot dog burps?
