I know today's going to be a rough day for many people. I remember how it felt when I was shown the door. I felt physically sick throughout the entire day. It took me a while to stop feeling like a failure even though I knew it wasn't through my own fault that I was laid off. But after taking some time off, I started my job search and within another month I had a new job. A slightly lower pay but excellent benefits and company culture. It's been a while since I've been as satisfied with work as I've been since I started my new job. I've read about more layoffs at Cisco and I just wanted to revisit this page to share my story in hopes it will help somebody see that it's not the end of the world. As corny as it sounds, things will get better.

I got LR'd in 2014 and it took me about a month to find another job. Much better pay and actually started a steep upward trajectory in my career. I still have some dear friends at Cisco and they seem to be doing fine. A recruiter approached me about returning a few years ago and I seriously thought about it but decided not to return. It's tough to go through but everyone I know who's gone through it ends up in a better situation.
That’s healthy wisdom….
Yep, me too. I took a package several years ago. Wasn't looking for a job but they found me. I'm happier than I've ever been and making more money. I'm glad I did it.
Exact same happened to me there are better jobs out there .
Thank you.
