Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Don't forget about silent layoffs happing every week

They do not need to report silent layoffs happening every week.

What about forcing people out on a PIP, also not counted as LR.

I've seen 4 people PIP'd before.

I didn't disagree with any of them.

Sometimes people aren't a good fit for the role at that point in their life.

PIPs are very seldomly used at Cisco - only for the most extreme cases. They are a lot of work for the managers, require extensive HR involvement, and bring legal issues if not done perfectly.

There is always another LR around the corner - so it's much more logical/simple to just catch low-performers in the next round.

Acquisition growth comes with extra employees (Cisco doesn't need the finance, HR, or other redundant teams from acquisitions) so it comes with constant LR's to grow this way.

Silent layoffs not part of LR, No need regulatory report
Red badges also not part of LR

Get a life people and happy Valentine's
