So what happens if I have next week off and the following 2? If the layoff happens when I’m away do I still technically have a job while I’m out? Does HR need to have a call first?

What if we are on PTO and don’t pickup the phone when they call and our voicemail is full? Do they have a legal requirement to inform us before laying off?
Real Answer: Layoff happens, you will be contacted same day as everyone else regardless of PTO or not. You then contact HR, they remove your PTO from the following days after layoff notice and you receive them as a pay out at the end of your last official day.
@rpl not true, it'll happen regardless. Why would you think they would wait?
They will call you and lay you off … had a friend on sabbatical in 2020, they didn’t wait for him to come back.
If your name is in the list ,You will be laid off after your PTO ! It’s long process and layoff will run till Mid May anyways! Good luck !
