UAW say adios to Ford

Great contract, won the battle, lost the war.

Thank God for the UAW. This contract got me paid more yearly money than I ever thought I make in a career!

UAW just endorsed our choice for pres in November. Things are going to keep getting better for us working folk!

You paper pushers are going to have to start earning your keep or be looking for a new job!

I'm not a fan of either.

"The world is changing. If the Chinese can build an electric vehicle for $11,000 or so, Ford must respond, he (CEO) said."

The UAW F-ed Ford and themselves. Good luck to all. I'm out.

This is a misleading headline, as it is not UAW saying goodbye to Ford. CEO was caught with his pants down; now he needs to prove he still has the reigns.

This is the direction of Ford past to present where they're selling out the US employee design, engineering, testing... all moving outside of the US.

Ford has been going down this track for some time and will continue in the future. If they can have remote employee's then Ford can have remote employee's at a lower cost located out of country. WAKE UP!!!

Brazil, India, Mexico, Canada...

You think these vehicles are cheap now in terms of quality .......just wait.

Employees and their friends and family buy the majority of Ford vehicles.

Get rid of your employees and you get rid of your sales.

It's like poking a balloon. The bulge just shows up somewhere else. Price yourself out of the market and you have only two options. Go out of business or fix your costs. Nothing new about this. Except saying the quiet part out loud. Every price hike gets push back - wiper blades from a vendor go nutty, next vendor. ONLY this time it's on a bigger scale. I don't think there's much anybody could do to change the direction this is going. The last of the good times is over.

@fyw Wrong!. Almost nothing in Walmart is built in the U.S. but they cant keep the shelves stocked because we buy all their cr-p. Proof that the consumer doesnt care where stuff is built. The unions have learned nothing from the history of Flint.

Why wouldn’t Ford build them where they will be engineered. Seems logical except customers in the States won’t buy them. Irrelevant point to management.

Dubious fear mongering

It is a logical outcome, especially UAW has already talked about "complete walkout" in the next contract talk, or may be it is the next contract walk.
