Most Cisco hiring groups do safe and comfortable hiring. I applaud those that step outside their comfort zones and bring in someone well rounded, qualified, proven candidate, and not someone they know outside of work. This goes for all the races!

Always.
And this is why I am usually very cautious when hiring someone who wants to bring 10 friends along. More than not, the new group will want to change the culture and this causes problems.
