Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Quit blaming JD!

He is a strong leader and has a proven track record. Nike was a mess when he stepped in, and he brought a culture of winning and sport back in! He hired a fantastic CDIO in RL, who got the shaft, was personally responsible for (also shafted) former leaders like MD in IE, and has a focus on what is best for employees!

This is the most hilarious post I’ve ever read on here. Don’t blame the person running the company for failure at the company. Good luck to that approach to running business. And as someone who has been here a long time. Nike was a different type of mess before JD yes but this type of mess is VERY different. Good luck out there.

@fyx JD doesn’t get paid 100x the average employee. It’s closer to 800x.

Not kidding. Unfortunately.

I believe this is what Twitter calls a Ratio.

(or is it a RATio?)

He hired the RAT.
And let the RAT run wild for 3 years, creating nothing but duplicated roles and destruction.

I know many people love to hate the RAT. I thought his all hands meetings were fun, informative and always inspired me to reach great heights. Is there anyway he is coming back to save GT?

No growth in over 3 years. The stock market has placed Nike as a wait and see. Look at all the new & successful footwear & apparel companies popping up while JD & crew keep consulting to reduce corporate expenses. No disrespect to the product teams, but it’s been a mess… All over done styling and appeals to very few.

JD needs to go after this layoff. Let this be his legacy.

He made 32M last year... cut half his salary and we could save some jobs.

Responsibility falls on leadership. He leads the company. Also, he gets paid 100 times more than the average employee, so he'll get 100 times more blame.
