Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Attracting talent

Imagine you have to interview a young candidate in the upcoming weeks. Could you keep a straight face and sell Cisco to them? I know I couldn't. I wouldn't want my own kids to work here.

Any parent with their children's best interest at heart would steer their child away from Cisco, particularly parents that understand enough about the tech industry to realize Cisco is a has been hardware company.

Any caring parent will coach their child not to work at Cisco even as a starter job where they will learn bad habits that will set their career back

@she+1r82xv1v Actually NO. I am not the OP and I did post that reply. Your response is interesting though. Truth hurts much? Are you UK HR and or DM or CP perhaps? HR is generally referred to as "Human Remains" at Bedfont Lakes.

Why would any talent with any self-respect apply to Cisco and be treated like unwanted muck by a bunch of excel sheet clicking Directors and managers who need roadmaps to find their a$$es when they itch?

Cisco no longer has anything to attract any talent. Speaking from experience of working in the UKI org, they do not develop any technology, internally promote and protect a toxic management-by-fear work environment and lays off whoever they wish irrespective of what sort of talent and dedication they bring to the company. The layoff decisions appear to hinge on who the management takes a personal dislike to during a given week and not on anything remotely connected to business or professionalism.

The place is infested with moribund, parasitic directors and managers who fortify themselves with young , new, naive blood who they are able to bully around and whose future and confidence they categorically ruin due to total lack of any career promoting opportunities.

Cisco is a place where talent goes to die. Any true talent, please stay away. Mediocre people looking for a pay-cheque under a psychotic, narcissistic management are most welcome.
