Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Will the first round of layoffs be completed this week? Or could there be more the following week?

There's not really going to be an "all clear" date for anyone for a while but you can use some logic and consider if you're in an enabling function the odds of your "survival" increase every day after this coming Monday if you don't get cut. Other functions haven't fully started yet so depending on your role and where you "sit" this could drag out for several weeks. I know it su-ks to hear but you also have to consider there will be ongoing reorgs, talent moves and other changes as a fallout of this latest layoff which means the threat of being laid off doesn't really end until probably October or November of this year. Having said that, for most folks in the US, I would say you can feel better about your ongoing Nike employment after mid March or so.

@lfd+1r8pMbVG That is me to a T. We’re not told anything. Everything changes all the time. I just want out but I still need to feed my family and pay the mortgage. So no rash decisions. I have been looking elsewhere heavily lately.

Pulling out my new guy card here.. What are some examples of the enabling function teams? Aside from JD, I don’t know who some of the other people are that some of these threads are referring to with the two letter initials.. Can some clarify? :(

I think GT is probably one of the more toxic orgs at Nike, they rarely know what’s going on, usually have the weakest leadership and least Nike behaviors. That’s why they’re always on here and most hoping for a severance to end their misery.

From what I am seeing enabling functions are all this week. They are encouraging people to work from home with multiple email messages I am getting which means it’s going to happen this week.

@gbs+1r8pMbVG people on this thread had real info about WFH before JD's email and about 1708 on Sladk and so much more! What do you smoke?

@crc+ Do you have insights on if the corp enabling functions that have gone through changes in this round will have more coming in the second round?

I suggest you ask these questions on the sources provided by Nike. Not here. People don't have real answers here.

Unfortunately, anyone with real information probably isn’t on this site posting. We hope it will be done all next week. But in reality the way this has all been handled, it could very well stretch on unnecessary. Best of luck.
