The layoffs are happening to cut down on the higher-paying roles and those nearing retirement. The idea is to bring in younger generations for less than half the salary. But, you know how it goes – you usually get what you pay for. I'm not worried about the talented folks who are getting the boot. Any smart company out there is bound to sn---h them up quickly.

i dont know anyone impacted. i heard it was enterprise sales. im wondering WHO / position makes these decisions as WHO / position to cut - i don't see a pattern of age, not sure about the grades though. i would think the low performers, or dead area, but it seems random for most part. Was RIF'ed in 2016. Returned after a few years. Somehow, I managed to not get RIF'ed but you KNOW its coming sooner rather than later, at this company.
That’s actually not true across the board this time. Virtual sales took a major hit. A lot of early in career folks impacted.
Uselessness doesn't know race, creed, age or gender
Says the person who can't grasp negative numbers. Cisco has far worse than deadwood.
Equally so a lot of entitled pro noun, young, coloured deadwood you should attribute incompetence to just old white folks

Cisco hired dregs during covid. They should go. There is a lot of old white deadwood in CX sales and cx in general (male and females over 50) that need to be moved out- especially larry. Cx is like all cisco rejects end up there.
Cisco hired worst talents during COVID
I am honestly not sure how to feel some older highly talented people have left
People with key relationships in the market
On the other hand obstructive older people have been let go this perhaps fosters a new way of thinking
It is hard to say what will happen it is all well and good having a strategy but with new people who may leave of their own accord due to these events leaves the execution wanting
That being said
Pay peanuts get.....
