Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Has Ford eliminated most open positions?

I just checked the Ford job openings site and it looks like they eliminated most of them.

Anyone hear about this?

I am not just stirring the pot - but just today I saw a LOT of Ford positions posted publicly for DEI and Employee Relations.

So Ford is most definitely still hiring.

They have been posting regular openings on linkedin and indeed. Both salaried and agency. Unless its just to collect resumes.

: @yir+1rAOROpj if that group’s name is Boston Consulting Group, they are there to help with the future layoffs. They have been here before in order to help select how many and where to layoff. We had them in our organizations before major layoffs. Unfortunately the management listened to them and the people were let go. Good luck.

Freezing Internal open positions always precedes a big layoff.

Batten down the hatches, it's coming!

@yir, if they turf the whole LL3/4 level in PD we will solve our efficiency problems. They are all empire builders who refuse to work together. They all want to do everything in their group so we duplicate so much, especially in IVI software.

Ever since I've been RTO, i noticed a group of people I hadn't seen before.
I inquired about them and was told they were hired to determine inefficiencies and reduce waste. If there's a group like them in my area, there are probably others in other areas.

Spot on about Ford engineers are to told to reach out to services out of Ford because they're not capable. I wouldn't be surprised if some don't even understand the spare tire mechanics. Really.

Most just want to be promoted, promoted, promoted...then there's the floaters who understand the method of staying under the radar as their supervisor, LL6 not aware of their existence...

Ford strategy for hiring good people has not worked for years. When you have a pool of dummies and you are shifting them around in the company, you get the same pool of dummies.

This is why there are no innovation within Ford. Ford hired outside firm to design and build their products. Ford engineers just write the PO and pay for the service.

This is another reason why Fird does not require engineers to gave a 4 years degree to be an engineer. You only need to have your high school diploma or GED. WHAT A JOKE TO CALL YOURSELF AN ENGINEER AT FORD.

Looks Ford is preparing for coming layoffs in middle year. From my observation of past layoffs, stage 1, eliminate/freeze outside hiring, 2, freeze internal movements, 3, layoffs.
