Thread regarding Ford layoffs

There is no need for all these people with business degrees.

If Ford could design, test and build quality products, the vehicles would sell themselves.

I think that the more educated people tend to avoid hard labor jobs.

As a result of the last decades of schools pushing higher education on our kids, we have lost a lot of blue collar workers from the labor work force.

You all need to encourage your kids to go into blue collar work. Especially blue collar trades. They could even join the UAW and make more money than many who people have degrees.

Ultimately, people with higher education, especially business degrees, tend to rise to the top and be the business owners, leaders, and executives. But our country needs a lot of work horses to build the roads, fight fires, fight crime, pick up the trash, do the construction, etc.

What we really needed was for the government to enforce even harsher emissions regulations. AND to remove older vehicles from the roads - by policy.

This would force people to buy EVs. Or they could take public transit or move closer to their workplace or pay for EV ride sharing.

People won't change unless we force them to.

business degree or not - ford is NOT capable of making good business decisions
for those that have access to the design studios - take a look at the garbage being produced - awful tesla copies and who is making decisions at lincoln??????? disgraceful!
bad copies of range rovers and even worst build quality.
farley, field, lawler, etc all useless - all the talk of subscription revenue and model E, billions wasted, add the failures of AV and MCS and no wonder ford is ridiculed.
no one solves problems, its all smoke and mirrors, the stock continues to decline, investors run, bill ford lies
shame on the company, and shame on those who flushed it down the toilet

@2sjx+1rAeXEpm MBAs rule the roost at fomoco. PhDs push papers and budgets and headcount. You will not further your research career here if you want to do research.

Business degrees are far more important than some STEM degree. Look at who is getting laid off or offshored to a low cost country. Hint, it's not the business guys.

Our entire Strategy team is made up of Business grads. Does that tell you enough??

These kind of comments always come from people who couldn't hack college or university. Get a student loan, work and study at night like the rest of us did, and your envy will magically disappear.

We need to return this company to the hands and minds of us working class employees! We work these assembly lines and know more about these cars than any of yous engineers and 'MBAs'!

Henry Ford didn't have no degree and he did just fine! We are all the exact same as him!
