Layoffs Based on 2H US Economic Forecast?

Has anyone heard if the global layoffs are being done because many economist are predicting a economic slowdown in 2H 2024? One economist is saying that global spending my drop by double digits starting in August.

August into election season should be a sizeable correction before a potential blow off top in 2025 before reality sets in

Probably, every Tech company has been massively laying off in the past 1+ year.
A recession is coming for sure, it is way over due. Consumers have over-stretched their spending, piling up purchases on credit cards. Inflation is here to stay unless the Fed increase interest rates again. This will not happen in an election year for sure, but may be after November. We certainly don't want to become Turkey, Egypt or Argentina...

A big recession would reset everything back to normal. Let's have it, it is time!
