Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Forced Culture is destroying the real culture

The forced culture of how and where we work is destroying the culture that has worked in many organizations. my larger team has lost 3 individuals because working here su-ks now, 3 are on the chopping block because of refusing to move, and two more just gave their two weeks, because, again its pointless spend 1 hour in a car to sit in a packed office, only to be on teams all day... From a healthy and thriving team of 18 to a struggling to tread-water team of 10 in less than 8 months, with a few others actively looking to jump ship once an offer is presented...

This forced culture will be the undoing of the work culture that actually got stuff done here.

This is the Stankey Titanic heading toward an iceberg....The AT&T leadership has failed on many levels - shareholder return, customer sat, employee satisfaction...think about how much things have changes...Would you recommend to friends or family to work here? I've asked this question to more than 50 people and don't have a yes yet...

Meanwhile, Stinky Stankey gets his millions, he eats hot wings while tens of thousands get fired, shows up in California to "meet with the troops" although it's really just a stop in way to Pebble beach.....truly sad. He should be gone.....

Well said. They are about short term gain, cut costs with layoffs based on geography not productivity.

They love to use the term culture change but the only change they are driving is to make things even more toxic

Going to the office would be better if you could have even one personal item. A coffee mug, or box of Kleenex. They want us to have zero items so you backpack in and out. It’s needless and doesn’t feel like a place you are a part of. They took our “peds”. Because they were deemed unsightly. You can get only a day locker like some call center kid.

"Leadership" literally could not care less. You are a number to them and they come to work every day thinking about how to make work su-k even more for those of us that actually do the work.

“Either People will change to the new culture, or we will change people”

Sounds like the current Whitehouse

2022: “A direct supervisor is responsible for 99.9% of employee job performance, job satisfaction and a healthy culture.”
2023: “Let’s as a level 6 who has never worked a day in his life how to create a healthy culture. With PowerPoints.”
2024: “Hold my beer.”

That is a feature of this exercise, they really don’t care who goes as long people go. I’m seeing a real brain drain but nobody is able to do anything about it, if you fit the criteria (to old, to much pension liability) you are gone. It’s a real shame

This is precisely what the Machiavellian sociopaths are seeking…ditching employees by the bushel. Remember their modus operandi…cutting towards “success”.
