Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Leave!

If you've got some skills under your belt, and I mean anything that is usable somewhere else, I'd strongly recommend you high-tail it out of the hot mess that is BNYM and don't even look back. I'm too old to make the move myself, but I hate seeing young, promising people wasting their lives here. It's not worth it.

Ge-z, I was laid off middle of 2023 with highly unscrupulous terms, and am re-traumatized by visiting this site. It's gotten even worse!

I don't want to go to another bank. I'm interviewing with politicians and regulatory bodies that prevent and investigate illegal employment behavior and white collar wage theft.

You need to do the same. Numbers and stories are BADLY needed.

Dude, you're losing track of all your comments from thread to thread.
41 year career becomes 42 year career after passage of time but not you are no longer at BNYM.....so.....it might be a "career" but it is no longer a BNYM career.
And you claim to know so much about the inner workings of the company but are no longer employed. You Robin's butler or something?

Sorry, Not at this dump anymore. Besides I described my 42 year career here in detail,, including successes and adversity, well over half a year ago. It was widely upvoted at the time and I had hoped that it would stand as a guideline for positive thinking and survival over tough times.

I advise that you scroll back and find it. Perhaps it will help you to stop wallowing in self pity and confront your issues.

Nope. Wrong again 41. Otherwise you wouldn’t still be at this dump regurgitating your bullsh-t day after day to try to get a ride outta people.

What apathetic life you have to come on the site and kick people while they’re down or worried for they families survival.

All I can say is watch out for karma

Low unemployment, people jumping for great pay increases, many new hires make more than their managers. But you’ll never believe it until you seriously start a job hunt.

For some reason the lifers are frightened to leave. I’ve never understood why. A few job jumps between banks can really build a career. The key is to move based on the most exciting opportunities. The money will always follow.

Good advice. The only people benefitting are the ones stealing our knowledge and getting fast promotions offshore while we rot and get yelled at for nonsense. Go somewhere else and take some someone else’s knowledge and learn and grow.
