Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I'm done with Cisco

I'm just fed up with feeling like no matter how much effort I put in, it's never good enough for my manager. It's exhausting. I've reached a point where I'm thinking, why bother even trying anymore? It's not like my work isn't good, it is. Everybody knows this. It's all about the fact that certain managers seem to have their favorites, and I can't seem to break through that barrier. And in that case, what's the point in pushing myself so hard?

I'm now actively searching for a new job. Until I find something better, I've decided to dial it back and do the bare minimum. If I'm going to be criticized and belittled every day, then fine, I'll give them something to nitpick about. I'm reserving my best for those who will actually know to appreciate and deserve it.

Nah this is real, and is a product of re--rded middle management. You figured it out… you probably tried to voice ways to make things better and realize… this is all by design and no one gives a fu-k

With all the changes going on, it's a good time to move teams. Sometimes you just get a manager that you don't jive with. Not your fault, and not theirs. Probably best to move on really - either to another team inside Cisco, or something you like better. Keep looking, you'll land where you are meant to be. All you have to do is keep up the search until you're successful.

Managers have a dirty game they like to play with employees. Harass them to max where they leave on their own, else they need to resort to other tactics like documented coaching (BIG BS), PIP and LR. Game is played unfairly as many mangers know their end is near. Cisco is no more a company it once was.
