Of course not, but I certainly told them where to go.

What are the downfalls of disclosing one’s new employer?

Never heard of Garden Leave. Is that a European phrase?

Of course you don’t. You’re not an indentured slave. However, if you keep your LinkedIn or other networking sites updated, they’ll figure it out. Or if you tell even one of your current coworkers, News will get out. So, no of course you don’t have to tell them, anymore than they have to tell you when they’ve been planning for weeks or longer to lay you off.

As a note- no matter how unhappy- don’t burn bridges. The world is small. You don’t know the web you have with other folks!

Nope just say you are open to new opportunities and taking a break. They won’t need to know if you’ve interviewed/accepted an offer/etc. If they had built the correct relationship with you, then you wouldn’t have an issue telling them.

It’s called GARDEN LEAVE, jeez. And unless you’re under a non compete contract, no you don’t owe them any info.

No you absolutely do not. That is irrelevant to your resignation

Gardening leave is when you resign, but they tell you to leave the office ASAP. You will then not have to work during your notice period, but still get paid
