Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Exxon will follow UPSs lead

UPS is trimming the management ranks to reduce costs, increase ownership, and flatten the organization. Like other companies, UPS realized that many levels of management increase costs while causing conflict between different management groups, reduce ownership and responsibility of the worker ranks, stifle innovation, reduce productivity, and dramatically slow decision making.

Exxon needs to reduce costs, innovate, speed decision making, and have staff and workers who act as owners instead of drones. Middle managers will be targeted during this years ranking, many will be NSI and privately told they won’t pass the PIP.

Staff will be attending meetings during the year to be introduced to the new workplace, how they add value and will be responsible for making decisions and results. The new environment will be very stressful for those who are not used to being in control or don’t want to be in control and some will leave on their own, others who can’t adapt will easily be identified and removed. Engineers at the campus will be sent to the operating facilities or dismissed. Collaboration between facilities will be handled by the Principal Engineer at each site.

KLTC and BTC will still exist, but only for monitoring (until they are replaced by a primitive version of AI) and some project work.

Talk about a civil war! Love the idea but the scorched earth by those people to keep their jobs will be something never seen before.
