My guess is May Day will be the Tuesday after Pay Day (May 14th).

I've now seen two waves in quick succession with double and triple digit displacements on a Tuesday after pay day.

Completely agree that leadership will not provide more clarity because it doesn't suit their purpose. In SVB's case, if asked he'll put on his concerned face (maybe even take off his glasses for extra effect) and talk about how hard this is for employees and their families without offering anything substantive. All the more reason to keep lobbing questions at them. It exposes their location "strategy" as the incoherent mess it is.

The problem with asking for more clarity is we will get nothing more than obscure vagueness in return.

I didn’t used to be so cynical, but Wells has beat it into me. Ask a clear direct question related to any aspect of this headcount reduction and you will not get a clear answer nor will those being questioned feel as if they are in the hot seat. It is business as usual for them.

Asking for more timing clarity would be an excellent question in Wednesday's CSBB Ask Me Anything with Saul VB.
