Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

WTF

When posting here would it be possible for folks who comment they were laid off to provide specifics as to what team and their role?? Does anyone have any insight, any whatsoever, about folks who serve in client facing roles like relationship managers, credit portfolio managers, market executives, portfolio execution specialists, etc. I feel folks in these roles have a false sense of security, should they, should they not??????

Anyone laid off would be stupid to say anything. It would violate a code of conduct, DUH! Like many before and after me; we can thank the high interest rates for our loss of jobs. That and Chuck has told us from the jump. . He’s here to clean house……….

I am the original author of this post. For all the smart a-s keyboard warriors, as Elon Musk said a few weeks ago to two shower Bob of Disney….”Go fu-k yourself! Are we clear? Go fu-k your self!!!”

I was laid off. but, until that happened, I monitored this site from home just to keep an eye on the 'mood'.

and now, after 14 months of paid 'coasting', I retired and still am enjoying life. I was in tech, and I was affected..... tech, not so much. their toes kept on a tappin' and others got stuck with my systems.

so, bottom line, it was the best thing to happen to me. a few of my peers were envious that I got the 'golden ticket', as they wanted out too......

Hope springs eternal for them. it could still happen..........

OP, keeping score? tracking things?

Once someone gets laid off, that person only tracks one score. Their own.

The number of branches that will be closed this year will be 3x compared to last year. So yes, many client facing roles will be eliminated. This has been happening for 2 years now, so no big surprises.

Agree that would be helpful, but most of these posts are fake so that's why they do not mention.

In tech, location strategy related layoffs, overlapping with agile coaches. It appeared to be easy low hanging fruit for the first round of the 2nd quarter of 2024. More to follow.

“ Does anyone have any insight, any whatsoever, about folks who serve in client facing roles”

Nope because you’re not actually important to the running of the company. You are absolutely expendable.

Be nice to folks who are sharing info on the site—lot of real facts shared here which otherwise we would never have come to know. I feel bad about folks displaced and having to deal with the impacts.. these are real people and they have families nd have spent years helping to get us to where we are today.

What a D-bag response. This is a layoff site. If you are laid off and post here then give the details. If you don’t want to give details then don’t post. Either way go F yourself

OP… WTF…seriously? If laid off, nobody needs to give you any of their details. Pretty sure it’s not a priority anytime soon.. ge-z 😂

Having a client facing role offers no protections. Look at the number of wealth planners and strategists that used to be with WFA and were laid off.
