Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells Fargo Workers are Unionizing Across the Country

There are many of us Wells Fargo Workers currently unionizing with the Communication Workers of America (CWA). I am a remote employee who’s job is going to India. We have 6 branches unionized in the last 2 months with 4 more holding their elections this month and the beginning of April. Look up Wells Fargo Workers United and the Committee for Better Banks. We are holding a training tomorrow night. This is for non-customer facing roles and branch workers. It’s time we stand up for ourselves and stop being scared to speak up!

I don't like unions generally, but Shart hates the idea of a unionized work force, so sc--w it. Where do I sign up?

@1ohc+1rDsvh9l in this case it cant. perhaps in a decade or so if 200+ branches were unionized and they were successful in getting wells to come to the bargaining table it will help. what every single pro-Union'er here seems to actively ignore is that unionizing in and unto its-self provides NOTHING. Wells still has to come to the bargaining table. go ask amazon employee's how unionizing has been working out for them! lol

How is a union going to make things better? Serious question.

From experience with
Union family members and previously working with unionized companies, a business decision will not stop the company. A piece of advice however if you are laid off and your job is going elsewhere. Keep your severance letter handy. I wasn't reported as being laid off when my job went to India. I was reported as being discharged. It's the wording in the severance letter that the unemployment office perceived as an actual layoff

I was going to say the same thing, what does this do for us that are non core location? It's a done deal for location strategy and hiring area.. I mean, I guess I can see for core and branch locations.

What do you think a Union can do for you? It’s a business decision to move jobs to India and a Union can’t save your job. Are you going to picket?

such concern. hey, your job is gone and it ain't coming back, no matter what. at least the indians will have some crooked organization to advocate for them(selves).

Cheers!
