It wasn’t all cash. So you have to ard the interest on the debt too.
about performance from companies acquired by Cisco.....you are right , they failed..
if they delivered good performance, Cisco will have good money....
now with Splunk for $28 billions in cash..., if fail to meet Cisco business requirement within next 2 years,......woow. as Addition to it is Acacia . bought by more than $4 billions as final deal (up from about $2 billions as the initial deal 2 years ahead).., Acacia develop coherent optics, however other companies make the same as well.....
who knows other new companies making similar and better than Splunk......
total number of employee up significantly .., usually Cisco Stock will ok ($53) with 70k employee
Remember some of the acquisitions that Cisco have made.
They bought Sourcefire over 10 years ago and they still haven’t got that working right.
Thousandeyes, AppD etc I don’t see what Splunk will bring…I expect no more than what the above has brought to Cisco.
Sad times, lots of the sycophants on LinkedIn are eating it up though
Splunk has never made a profit. Think about that.
No profit no issue !
Net income in January 2018 was $33M on $460M of revenue, in January 2019 was $2M on $622M of revenue, in January 2023 was $268.8M on revenue of $1.251B, in October 2023 was $96.85M on revenue of $1.07B and in January 2024 it was $426.55M on revenue of $1.49B. There is definitely some strong annual hockey stick behavior in their financials but they're finally starting to look like they're getting on their feet.
At this point I'm more worried about Cisco's performance in amplifying the value Splunk by leveraging its technologies with the rest of Cisco's portfolio.
$u-k my 19th middle finger on that one. But probably right.
No profit no issue ! Still got few years to stay alive and doing BS. If you are on the line please keep up market skill for the day to come.
See how many Cisco BU create BS project, numerous release either no customer or with pi---d-off customers. Every single releases declared 1000+ improvement, I don't see why every single release associated with hundreds of CFD can be called improved.
Those who worked stay on the bottom of food chain. Those who talking/BS is your boss and force you to deliver cr-ppy result to make his boss happy.
Splunk has never made a profit. Think about that.
Splunk has one of the best analytics and related security software in the market. Most of the Fortune 500 are using this software. All depends on future innovation and growth.
Appdynamics was a failure to some extent. $3B acquisition did not generate enough revenues and the BU was merged into another BU within 2 years as they could not report separate revenues for this product.
Splunk was may be worth $6-8B, not more than that.
