I haven't read through my separation agreement. I’m still in shock.
Does anyone know if my BNY Mellon SUB (Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Plan) pay is reduced if I get unemployment payments? I got two weeks for every year I was employed.

Health Benefits are covered for the same period as your sub-pay. Once that ends you will receive information in the mail regarding COBRA within 14 days. If you do enroll in COBRA your coverage will be retroactive.
How long are benefits covered before needing Cobra?
I got laid off after 24 yrs. I read the sub package. You collect both at the same time.
The calls/webex were very informative.
The team is very helpful.
Thanks for all the serious and helpful answers.
If you were using commuter benefits turn off all upcoming months and load up your commuter passes with any funds remaining in your account. Once BNYM submits your termination to the provider of this service, your commuter debit/credit card won’t work and you’ll loose any remaining balance left in your account.
@1rzm, they were too lazy to read their separation agreement, do you really think they're going to read any ignorant here?
@OP - Your unemployment will not affect the amount you receive in SUB and vice versa. However, when filing for unemployment benefits, please ensure that you indicate that the payments you will be receiving from the company are "supplemental unemployment benefits" and not severance. Severance payments in some states can affect the amount of UC claimed. Good luck - in time you will view leaving BNYM as a good thing.
Sorry to hear you were let go. I too was in shock initially. You’ll receive a lot of information. Attend the meeting about your separation - it’s helps you to understand all of your options. Ignore the ignorant comments on this site. There are ugly people out there.
Try googling define:supplement
Sorry to hear that. But no. Collect both at the same time. In the short term, you’ll actually be making quite a bit more money, but obviously the stress of losing your job weighs on you.
