It is the reason this company is failing. And it is the reason why our jobs are being sent to low cost countries. The engineers in Brazil, Mexico, and India actually do a much better job than most of the lazy engineers here in the US.

It is just a good old boys club of lazy workers that aren't really capable of much more. That's why all the lay offs keep happening.

I've worked at an assembly plant for 23 years! I make over 100 grand each year not including overtime. But I work every minute of my 40 hours!

But I have news for you. The schedule you just described IS the Ford way, lol. You are exactly like all the other GSRs and LL6s. I bet whenever someone sends you an IM, it takes you hours to reply.

Here is how my quiet quitting works.

Monday, I log in, answer some emails and IMs. Set up my miss jiggler and then do whatever I want around the house. I log in to any meetings that I may have. I only speak of asked a direct question. After lunch I do it all again.. Until 5pm

Tuesday-Thursday I drive in, badge in about 8:45. I get to the desk I reserved then I go to the bathroom, get coffee and a muffin. By 9:30 I answer some emails and IMs. I attend any meetings or log in from my desk. I go to lunch out with my LL6 or a coworker. I'm back by 1:30. I stay until 4:30 then bolt. I play on my phone including this forum as much as I can through out the day. But I'm here! Present and seen!

Friday, see Monday except I'm usually offline no later than 4pm.

Quiet quitting is winning!

Finding a conference room or place to have meetings onsite is not possible. Many conference rooms are booked all day and no shows. People are double booking and discussions over conference rooms are getting more intense. Some people are even hiding cables on the docking stations so nobody else can sit there. I don’t mind coming in at 7 and leaving at 6 but what I do mind is the inevitable layoff that’s gonna happen despite putting in the effort

RTO is exactly what I expected. The desks are broken, the docking stations missing, no food and gross bathrooms. But what I didn't expect is everyone is rolling in at 9 and then it's vacant by 3. The old Ford they watched when you came at 7 and and went home at 6 and now no one seems to care. The management burned the bridge with the workers so just come in and socialize, eat lunch at the good places you liked and then go home and get the kids off the bus. I used to put long hours in, but now I have to drive when I would have been working. So they get less of me.
