They bulk re-titled lots of people. Nobody got a raise with it. Claimed it was to get titles in line with industry standards. More than likely was for them to be able to claim that people were overpaid for their title.

Got one of those from T with the promise of "we'll make it up at review time." Never happened either, since someone else in the group had to get a larger raise to bring them up to pay range.

The best thing to do is start looking for another job and use the "promotion" on your resume. When you get the offer to move, then negotiate a raise, or leave.

The most common ATT scam - we’re going to dotted line people to you, give you a ton of responsibility and no title change/raise to go with it. We want to see how you handle the responsibility. No promise of a promotion or raise. The d-mb overachiever salutes and then realizes they got hosed weeks or months later. Been there done that, I keep a lower profile now and don’t take on anything more than I have to. Been hosed a few too many times.
