Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

LOL@WORK

It's rather funny indeed to work in a center where half the people are gone every day - and most of us actually hope to be laid off. As you can imagine, actual work production is purposefully low and it seems most people don't care. It's kind of like it's all only a joke. Most just do the very minimum to not be fired while laughing about a closing announcement and our nice termination package.

Sounds like you’re in one of those protected “hubs”. Thank you for being honest about the stupidity of giving cities protection for complacency.

Automation and off-shoring are m making us prime targets for layoff any day now but many of us welcome that and are excited about getting the termination package and gtfooh.

We are in a union. We don't have to work hard. We are protected. The rest of you are on your own.

"Do the absolute minimum that keeps you from getting fired but puts you on severance list." So many employees are doing that these days because we know our time will come, it's just a matter of time. Company would be better just to do a MVO and let those who want to leave, leave. These are the ones who were most impacted by Stankey's decision to accelerate the depletion of benefits and then force people into hub locations without relocation. Created a culture of apathy, laziness, and resentment of the company. Just offer a MVO. Would do a lot to cleanse the toxic corporate culture Stankey has created.

You gotta love the culture that Stankey created. I hope this was reflected in the culture survey.

Hate to hear that but it does seem that any center that still supports the old legacy products days are numbered. And whatever legacy work is left will be moved to areas without those issues. Remember the Uverse center in Dallas. Attendance became so bad they actually moved the work to smaller locations and shut it down.

We all know that we're all going to eventually be laid off - many of us any day.
